Roadmap
Last updated: Saturday, June 13th, 2026 1:23am UTC / GMT 0
Time frame to be based upon the date June 5th, 2026.
This page will be a general overview of the direction FileFade is moving in the future. A lot of things will change, be implemented, or removed. For now, I'll publish this in an effort to maintain transparency.
0-8 weeks
The following changes are expected immediately and could be published at any moment:
- New/updated User Interface
Server upgrade for more data/dedicated content delivery. Will also be looking into offshore hosting providers for more privacy / security for users. The hosting for site related files would remain based in the US while all user uploads would be sent to a dedicated off-shore hosting provider in areas with more strict privacy laws. I think this is the best route for FileFade considering it's purpose (no one should have access to your content except you, and whoever you share it with).
done June 11th, once configured update will be posted in changelogEmail accounts for reports@, admin@, support@, no-reply@, and any other necessary administrative accounts for FileFade.
done June 12th, see changelogA blog type section where updates to the site can be shared by administration, and users may comment to ask questions or otherwise engage.
done June 9th, see changelog
9-20 weeks
- New feature roll outs (TBD)
- Significantly increased data storage limits for registered users, and potentially guests.
- Review of all code by third party for any potential security concerns
21-30 weeks
- New feature roll outs (TBD)
- Paid tier introduction for specific benefits (currently all features of FileFade are 100% free)
31+ weeks
- Overall assessment of FileFade's current position and needs
- To Be Determined (TBD)
I know there's a lot of "TBD" on here, but I have a lot of ideas for FileFade and plan to take it as far as I can. I just don't want to spoil the surprises! Once we get closer to features being finished / released, I'll add an update to the upcoming blog page to go over what to expect and what is being changed. Until then, register and keep checking back to get the latest updates!
While I will try my absolute best to maintain a strict schedule for the future, there will be times when I might fall behind. I am a solo developer who is doing this for fun, not for money. I would like to thank you and everyone else for their time and trust, and hope you enjoy watching FileFade progress!
